Nelly is looking for a donor
Nelly has suffered a relapse of leukemia and needs new stem cells. Just over fifteen years ago, she was diagnosed with AML and began an intensive treatment that lasted eight months. After a tough battle, the cancer went into remission and Nelly was able to return to everyday life. Five years later, the leukemia came back. The relapse was even more demanding, and Nelly now needed a stem cell donor in order to survive. Despite extensive searches, no matching donor was found. Her lifeline instead became a transplant using her own previously stored stem cells. In December she received the news that the cancer has returned yet again, and this time new stem cells from an unrelated donor will be needed. You can help by joining the Tobias Registry or encouraging others to join. Someone, somewhere, could be Nelly’s perfect match and her hope of becoming healthy once and for all.
